Extraordinary range of classic cars from past 70 years up for sale in huge auction in London

MORE than 70 classic cars are set to go under the hammer today at one of the biggest classic car sales in the country.

Coys automobile auctioneers will be accepting bids for the vintage motors at their Spring Classics sale in Westminster this evening.

The event is taking place at the Royal Horticultural Society, Lindley Hall, Vincent Square in Westminster.

The auction itself will take place from 7pm and is expected to attract collectors from across the world.

And while you can bid for an E-type jag or 1960s Bond style Aston Martin, more modern  models are up for grabs.

For right now cars from the 80s and 90s are hot property.

This is because collectors are keen to dig deep to secure the next classics.

A 1991 Lamborghini LM002 - dubbed the Rambo Lambo - is one that is set to garner interest.

Then there is a 1996 mint condition Mercedes-Benz SL500 on sale after having just one owner and travelled 81 miles.  

All time American greats from the late 1960s and 1970s will also be on offer with Ford Mustangs.  

Unusual buys include 1953 Lambretta 125 FD - a sort of scooter tricycle.
